About

In a city where most residents are transplants from other places, L. D. Parker is a rare native Washingtonian. Growing up in a large interracial family, L.D. was the only girl for most of her life.

Surrounded by members of the DC area's extensive law-enforcement community-including her father and all 6 brothers-she was fortunate enough to be provided a unique perspective of the city and its diverse communities.

It was this exposure that first led her to write reality-based-fiction. L.D. discovered that almost every person she met had a story very different from hers, so she began to write.

Mom to a horde of boys, in addition to her writing, L.D. is a parent volunteer at their schools, an executive at a non-profit, and a part-time baker.
